Shoulda called it a soundtrack…

A few days ago I sent a message to a friend of mine confirming the date and time for an upcoming video shoot. We’ve done over 20 videos now, enough to make the process feel ordinary… but what’s cool about that is that when I’m excited for the next shoot, it’s because the band we’re working with is so good I listen to them non stop for weeks. I try not to be a fanboy, but sometimes I can’t fight it.

We bundled up all the audio from the first 12 live from bad racket videos into a compilation album. I think it’s also technically a soundtrack… This album represents the first year of discovering and producing music in Cleveland and hundreds of hours of work by members of the bands and the whole team at Bad Racket.

For me, this album is brand new, but also a bit nostolgic – a look back at the last few years of work – there’s been lots of moments that I can remember being completely overwhelmed with excitement. I’ve been excited about a clever lyric or how good a guitar sounds on a number of occasions, sure, but I’ve also been excited about getting new light bulbs, a fresh coat of paint, a 3 am bike ride, and a meal of just meat and miller highlife. All of this stuff is part of the music – this is exactly what we set out to do, Thanks for being part of it!

Never deprive yourself of adequate celebration time!
