Here’re a few reasons we get geeky grins at the beginning of a new session:
Easy load-in.
Pull up to the side street & tug, roll, or toss (careful now) your gear through the big garage door into the studio. That’s nice.
Toys.
24 track simultaneous recording on our beat-up-but-beautiful board. Gold glinting off the grill of a beefy tube condenser microphone plugged into a dedicated power supply. Cables everywhere. GAP Pre-73 preamps giving rich color to the signal. Our signature sound panels piled into a fort de sound.
No more layering tracks
(unless you want to, of course). We have a 24 channel interface connected to a 24 channel mixing board. So you can lay down your tracks like a band, not scarecrows who can’t look away from the fretboard.
Headphone mixes.
It’s kinda simple, but it makes a big difference. You play live, but hear the whole band clearly, which helps you play tight.
We ain’t fancy.
You aren’t going to break anything at Bad Racket unless you try to. Take it easy. Spill some beer. It won’t be the first or last time.
What next?
Call us to schedule a session, we’ll talk a bit about your project and dial in a plan to make it happen. Day rates start at $175 for a weekday block, and are custom quoted based on your needs (so shoot us an email). Weekend sessions are $300/day.
