There are a few ways to transfer files. What’s important is use whatever you are most comfortable with. If its google drive, or dropbox use that. We recommend wetransfer.com or whatever is clever. Wetransfer is the fastest with the least BS, but we frequently use cloud service systems from companies like IBM, Microsoft, and Amazon.
Frequently Asked Questions:
What do you recommend for file transfer for audio and video projects?
Answer: Wetranfer.com is great and the free version does not require you to save a password. Only your email and my email is necessary to send up to 2 gb and you get a notification when the files are downloaded/upload so there isn’t any question as to when the files were sent or if they were received. The catch is the free version deletes after 9 days or something like that. So perfect for instant transfer, not good for long term storage.
What’s best for long term storage?
Answer: Usually a local backup to an external drive, and a backup to something like Google Drive / Amazon AWS / Dropbox/ iCloud or whatever you want to use for important longterm online file storage.
Wave or Aiff?
Answer: Either is fine.
Mp3?
Answer: Only as a last resort.
