Cleveland Based Recording Company Launches New Music Download Service.
(CLEVELAND, OH ) June 3, 2013 – The age of digital music continues to evolve as options for artists to finance, produce and distribute music expands with new tools readily available on the internet. Bad Racket Recording Studio released a new website today featuring a robust music download store, similar to iTunes or Amazon-mp3 but with a focus on featuring music produced at the studio and connected to the studio’s recording community.
Bad Racket Launches New Music Webstore
The new distribution and download service is a continuation on previous artist development initiatives from Bad Racket that are atypical for a media production company. “It’s part of our general operation to help share music in a way that is deliberate and meaningful” says Adam Wagner, founding partner and developer of the new badracket.com “The store highlights some of the regions most talented young artists and allows fans to sample their music, and even more importantly support it with a purchase if they choose.”
For launch there are 38 albums available to stream and download with an anticipated 3-5 new albums to be added or released from the store each month. Artists have the ability to choose the price for fans to download their music. At launch Two Hand Fools, Wolf Creek, Cherry Cola Champions, Meridian and Bracing are among those offering their music for fans to download completely free. Other notable artists with music featured in the store include the 2013 release “Paintings” by Seafair, and self titled albums from Dead Sweaters and The Modern Electric. Future releases will include more Cleveland based musicians and exclusive content made by members of Bad Racket’s audio engineering team.
This is only the beginning of the new distribution service, Bad Racket expects to expand the capabilities of the store and use this platform to test new ideas that will test the traditional paradigms of the music industry.
BAD RACKET is Cleveland’s Craft Recording Space, an independent music and media production company founded 2010 by James Kananen in Ohio City. Services include tracking, mixing, and mastering audio, audio for video, show promotion, online record sales and video production.
